Screen printing

What is screen printing?

Screen printing is a printing technique that allows marking images engraved on a template on all kinds of materials, substrates such as paper, metal, plastic, fabric, or glass. It involves transferring ink to the item through a mesh. As we mentioned, this is one of the oldest and most traditional printing techniques, one of the options most used by companies to print designs on products. This is due to the fidelity of the printed image and its excellent quality, which withstands the test of time.

TYPES OF SCREEN PRINTING

Manual screen printing

This is a basic stamping technique based on manual production. This is the most common type of printing in the field of screen printing, characterized by being a manual process throughout the printing process. The machine used has an adaptable base for printing different products of different sizes, such as caps, backpacks, bags, or T-shirts, etc…

Semi-automatic screen printing

This is one of the most used types of screen printing in the textile industry, highlighting its high production capacity, quality, and speed. This is a printing model very similar to manual printing, except that the user places the product on the mesh and inks it, while the machine does the rest of the process. It is characterized by automated and collaborative functions with continuous manual support, pauses between prints, and guarantees perfect results.

Circular screen printing

This printing method involves the operation of a suitable machine, responsible for printing on round surfaces, guaranteeing a result fully in line with the product. It works thanks to a special machine that allows excellent customization of products such as cups, glasses, or thermoses, etc… Automatic screen printing   As the name suggests, this is a type of printing technique that is completely automated, in which the operator’s tasks are reduced to placing the items in the appropriate position for the next print. This is the screen printing method most used in the vast majority of companies because it allows for large-scale and automated production.

Advantages of screen printing

It is economical for small-scale productions since the cost of the equipment used is not high and it can be used for future productions. For larger-scale productions, these costs are reduced, increasing the profit margin. Long-lasting results. The effect of screen printing on products is very durable due to the thickness of the ink used. The result is quality and solidity. Variety and color. This is one of the most adaptable methods; it can be used on any flat surface. Regarding color, thick colors can be obtained that are difficult to reproduce with other printing techniques.
